The U.S. Navy Awards the Operational Infectious Diseases (OID) Research & Surveillance Support Services IDIQ to Federal Connect, LLC, a CAMRIS Joint Venture

The U.S. Navy has awarded the Research & Surveillance Support Services Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ), an $80M, five-year contract, in support of the Naval Health Research Center (NHRC) Operational Infectious Diseases (OID) Directorate to Federal Connect, LLC, an SBA-approved mentor/protégé joint venture between MPF Federal, LLC and CAMRIS International, LLC. The Federal Connect team is joined by The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF), a primary subcontractor under the IDIQ. The contract will bolster NHRC’s ongoing mission to conduct comprehensive laboratory-based surveillance and research to identify and study the etiology of infectious illnesses affecting U.S. military personnel and civilian populations in unique environments.

The NHRC OID Directorate, a key component of the Navy Medical Research and Development Command, conducts active surveillance and laboratory-based research to monitor infectious diseases among U.S. military populations, including recruits, deployed forces, and other at-risk groups. It identifies and characterizes pathogens to inform public health responses and military readiness.

“This contract significantly expands our efforts to provide high-quality research and surveillance support services to our government partners,” said CAMRIS President Rodney R. Sweetland, III, JD. “We are honored to support NHRC OID’s vital work in ensuring that U.S. military forces are protected against infectious disease threats and are ready to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow.”

Under the IDIQ contract, the Federal Connect team will provide comprehensive research and laboratory support services, including laboratory technical services, data analysis and epidemiology, study coordination and program management, field surveillance, sample collection, and quality assurance and safety compliance.

Through this partnership, the Federal Connect team will expand OID’s capabilities and support its mandate to safeguard the health and deployment readiness of U.S. military personnel worldwide.
