CAMRIS Salutes Captain Elizabeth A. Moncalm-Smith of the Naval Medical Research Unit -San Antonio (NAMRU-SA)
CAMRIS International salutes Captain Elizabeth A. Montcalm-Smith on her achievements as the commanding officer of the Naval Medical Research Unit – San Antonio (NAMRU-SA). Since taking the helm in June 2015, Captain Montcalm-Smith has led medical, craniofacial, and biomedical research at the command to better the health of U.S. Sailors and Marines. She forged and maintained collaborative relationships across the medical research landscape, strengthening NAMRU-SA’s reputation as a premier research institution. It has been our honor and pleasure to serve under her stewardship. We thank Captain Montcalim-Smith for her critical work and wish her the best in her future endeavors.
Captain Montcalm-Smith will be relieved by Captain Thomas C. Herzig of the United States Medical Service Corp at the Change of Command ceremony on Thursday, August 24, 2017. We welcome him and look forward with great confidence and excitement to continuing our partnership with NAMRU-SA.
