CAMRIS International Awards and Recognition

2010 GovStar Technical Trailblazer Award Winner

GOVStar LogoCAMRIS International won the 2010 GovStar Technical Trailblazer Award for development of innovative technological products.

This GovStar award recognized CAMRIS both for its ability to adapt existing and innovative technological platforms to U.S. Government agencies that resulted in improved performance and for its effective contributions to the industry. Recent CAMRIS innovations leading to this prestigious recognition include: adaptation of blood management technologies in service of U.S. Armed Forces personnel; application of cognitive measurement technology; and successful development of industry-leading technology for remote diagnostic radiology interfaces with VA hospitals.

GovStar Awards presented in partnership by SmartCEO magazine and Sheppard Mullin recognize Greater Washington area government contracting firms for their technology innovation, workplace environment, growth, veteran support, and contributions to the industry and the marketplace, striving for excellence in the complex and competitive government contracting sector.

2010 Notable Accolade

Alex Dehgan (USAID Science and Technology Advisor)  “The Science, Technology, and Innovation conference was a great success for USAID, made  possible in large part by the exceptional work of the CAMRIS team, work that in terms of quality and quantity far exceeded expectations.”

CAMRIS is currently facilitating and supporting the work of USAID’s Chief Operating Office and the Agency by providing specific, short-term analyses and studies, communications and research on development and humanitarian assistance subjects.

In July 2010, the conference brought together approximately 60 leading scientists from around the world to develop consensus over major challenges, integrate current knowledge, fashion a scientific agenda, and create new approaches. The CAMRIS team drafted a white paper “Global Science, Technology, and Innovation Challenges”, which served as the base document for the conference, facilitated discussions at the conference, provided logistics support, and drafted the final conference report.

The 2006 Magellan Award

Magellan Award 2006The Magellan Awards, which received more than 400 entries from around the world, is a competition conducted to recognize excellence in communications campaign practices. USAID/Ecuador's campaign, in coordination with the U.S. Embassy, Ecuador's development organization (UDENOR), and local non-governmental organizations, helps the people of Ecuador better understand the benefits that come from long-term commitments to improve water quality, sustainable economic growth and the construction of better infrastructure in the Northern Border region.

CAMRIS provided professional services supporting all aspects of conception, strategic communication development , and implementation. Media and public opinion within the northern border region, which had been susceptible to threats from instability on the Colombian side of the border, demonstrated measurable improvement in increased pro-Ecuadorian identify and sentiment and also improved investment climate and stability. For its communications work in Ecuador, USAID placed number 20 in the Top 50 category as well as winning the first-place Platinum Award in the Community Relations category.
